I'm so glad I'm marrying this man

Yes, he is wearing a headset
Yes, he is holding a game controller.
Yes, he is the man I love and WILLINGLY choose to marry.

I love Jackson for many reasons. One of them being this... He went back to New York for Thanksgiving weekend and brought back some goodies for me from Magnolia Bakery. It's a pretty famous cupcake place in NYC, but it holds special memories just for us.

We used to work about 5 blocks from this place. Once I had discovered these cupcakes, my sweet tooth found any and every excuse to visit. Back then, they didn't have fancy cupcake boxes. No pretty stamp on top with the bakery name, and definitely no cupcake organizers inside. If your cupcakes rolled around and got all smushed up, you had to deal with it. Luckily I had no shame in licking the frosting right off the box.

Our favorite West Village restaurant, Mary's Fish Camp, is down the street and we would usually have dinner, then walk to Magnolia. I would get 2 cupcakes (1 to eat right away, 1 for later) and Jackson would get a naked cupcake (naked as in NOT frosted). Then we'd walk back home to my apt in Chelsea. It brings back such great memories of our time in NYC and where we fell in love. Jackson waited 30 minutes in line last weekend just to bring me these...
I ate all but 1. Some men bring flowers. Some bring cupcakes. Lucky me, right? Oh, and he also brought this - which is my favorite item from Magnolia (or anywhere else for that matter).

Red Velvet Cake. At Magnolia, if they had left over Red Velvet cake batter, they would make cupcakes. Since I practically stalked this place, I had my share of Red Velvet cupcakes. But they are normally hard to come by, and if they dont have cupcakes, they will always have cake. And when you order a "slice", you get the biggest piece of heaven you've ever seen. But I still prefer the cupcakes.

Ah happy times...then and now. Thanks again JT.

PS - After Jackson read this blog, he said that I forgot to mention how he had to carry them on the plane all the way from New York.

PPS - After Jackson read it again, he told me I should have posted the pictures he sent to me from his phone. So here goes. Waiting in line at Magnolia...

In the store picking out cupcakes...

And with that, I'm going to log off and not listen to anymore of Jackson's comments. And yes, I still love him.
